Hello World! If you're looking for Katrina-Kay Alaimo (my former name) or just wanting to learn more about me, then you've come to the right place.

Raised in Sacramento, California, I studied Classics as an undergraduate at California State University, Sacramento, doing 1-year abroad in Swansea, U.K. I then moved to Exeter, U.K. for my M.A. in Classics and Ancient History and Ph.D. in Classics. My research analysed Romano-British temples in south-eastern England through an archaeological lens. During my time at university, I participated in a number of Roman and Medieval excavations and volunteered at Swansea University's Egypt Centre and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter.

I then moved to Hokkaido, Japan, after which I worked in public relations and as a Research Fellow with Hokkaido University, one of Japan’s top universities. I specialised in research communications and educational practices, alongside publications, translations, and other jobs.

In summer 2021, I started working with Golden Recursion, Inc. as a member of the research and data teams where I lead data ingestion and the execution of data architecture. I also manage the company's data acquisition team, carry out data development, bulk data quality, and analytical tasks.

I am passionate about research, data, and programming. I have in my arsenal: Python, JavaScript, query languages (SQL, XPath), markup languages (HTML, LaTex, XML), and CSS.
